Dear Local Business Owner,

The Paul Laurence Dunbar Alumni Scholarship Foundation is dedicated to empowering Dunbar Vocational Career Academy graduates to pursue their higher education dreams. We're writing to you today to ask for your support in achieving this important mission.

For 82 years, Dunbar Vocational Career Academy has been a cornerstone of the Bronzeville community, preparing students for success in college and careers. However, many Dunbar graduates face significant financial hurdles in pursuing higher education. Last year, we received applications from 24 deserving students, but were only able to provide scholarships to 16 due to limited funding.

Our annual Scholarship Fundraising Gathering is a vibrant community event that brings together families, alumni, and supporters to celebrate the achievements of our graduating scholars and raise critical funds for future scholarships. This year's event, themed "Raising the Bar [Dunbar] of Excellence," will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Washington Park in Chicago, IL. The day will be filled with games for all ages, a school supply giveaway, a health fair, the honoring of our 2025 scholars, food, and fun for everyone in attendance. We aim to raise $75,000 to support these deserving students.

We are seeking donations from local businesses like yours to help us reach our goal. We offer various sponsorship levels to recognize your generosity:

Platinum Sponsor ($1,000+) Gold Sponsor ($500 - $999) Silver Sponsor ($250 - $499) Bronze Sponsor (Up to $249)

In-kind donations of food, water, juice, soda, cutlery, paper goods, school supplies, and game prizes are also greatly appreciated and will be assigned to a sponsorship level based on their estimated value.
